Swarovski has been manufacturing crystal since 1899, started with the edelweiss flower, expanded to France, founded Tyrolit in 1935, and introduced binoculars by the end of the same year. In 1977, it entered the US jewellery market.
Interestingly, the actors Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry are pictured lying on a bed of diamonds in the film Titanic, which features Swarovski crystals, and there is also a chandelier in the film The Phantom of the Opera that features Swarovski crystals.
Swarovski has been involved with Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for more than 15 years now. As of 2018, their Fantasy Bra featured one million dollars in Swarovski crystals, and 25 years after Marlene Dietrich died, they commissioned a dress in the style of the late actress.
In addition to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, Swarovski has sponsored the FC Swarovski Tirol football club as well as the #BrillianceforAll campaign with Nadiya Hussain, Katie Piper, and Kris Hallenga.
Using a unique iridescent technology, Swarovski crystals are able to preserve their brilliance as well as brightness in a non-lead dioxide environment. Their hologram select packaging was inscribed with the words 'advanced crystal superior brilliant lead-free'. The special method used by Swarovski enabled the crystals to be used safely for more than a decade before it was completely removed from the entire manufacturing process at the end of 2012.
Swarovski jewellery is adored around the world, and Bonds Jewellers are proud to be authorised UK retailers of this renowned jewellery brand.
