How Should I Clean My NOMINATION Bracelet and Charms?

How to clean your NOMINATION Bracelet and Charms. Everyone loves it when their jewellery sparkles and looks amazing for longer, right?

That’s why NOMINATION Italy have a special cleaning cloth for your composable bracelet and charms.

Look inside the nooks and crannies of your bracelet. You’ll see that dirt builds up over time which then creates bacteria, so making sure your bracelet is clean is very important to you and your wellbeing.

Here are a few useful tips on, how to clean your NOMINATION bracelet and charms correctly.

  1. Rub the cloth over the charms to pick up any dirt on your charms. (This will also bring out the shine in the charms.)
  2. Then stretch out your bracelet on a flat surface so you can see in between each link. You will probably see a build-up of dirt.
  3. Wedge the edge of your NOMINATION Cleaning Cloth between the links and wiggle it to pick up any remaining dirt.
  4. If you find any stubborn dirt that you can’t move, try to hook it out with a corner of the cloth or a clean piece of kitchen towel.

How many times should I clean my charm bracelet?

You don’t need to do it every day. If you clean your bracelet once every few weeks it will keep it looking like new for longer, whilst keeping germs at bay.

You may not think jewellery picks up that much dirt, but believe us, it really does.

Dirty jewellery has bacteria levels 10 times higher than skin after hand-washing, but most people go months or even years without cleaning their jewellery”.

Always remember to remove your jewellery before you put on perfume, body lotion, suntan lotion – anything like that. Jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. All of these can add to built-up dirt within your bracelet.

You should not wear jewellery if you are handling detergents, bleaches, ammonia or alcohols; these chemicals will cause discolouration, damage and loosen stone settings.

Should I wash my bracelet in water?

Ideally, not. However, if you haven’t cleaned your bracelet for a while you can use a small soft toothbrush.

But, NOMINATION advises their customers not to wash or wear your bracelet in water so a dry toothbrush please.

The reason is that contact with water can increase the chances of damage happening to enamel and the stones that are set within the charms.

To avoid any future damage to gemstones and scratching of your jewellery, store them in an Official NOMINATION Jewellery Box which has separate compartments for each item, and soft pouches for individual items.

A jewellery box will keep your jewellery safe and stop it getting scratched.
